Montana Journalism Review was founded in 1958, as the nation’s first journalism review. Today, the magazine covers media-related topics as well as featuring works of journalism in and around Montana. It incorporates multimedia elements online, through social media and through this new tablet edition.

Each issue is inspired by a broad theme. The 2014 issue is devoted to secrets, both big and small – from government agencies secretly monitoring citizens to insider tips on making it big on YouTube.

Both the print and digital editions are created by a staff of advanced journalism students at the University of Montana’s School of Journalism. UM professor Henriette Lowisch serves as editor-in-chief. All rights remain with the authors of the works published in the magazine.

Tablet designed by MJR staffer Abbey Dufoe.
